About the Certificate

The Graduate Certificate in Marine and Coastal Climate Change (MCCC) will be awarded after successful (C grade or higher) completion of four graduate level courses in the field of Marine and Coastal Zone Studies. Entry is at any of the NSU Halmos College of Natural Sciences and Oceanography’s three start terms: Fall, Winter, and Summer.

Applicants require a baccalaureate degree to be considered for admission. NSU's programs are fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and students accepted into the Marine and Coastal Zone Studies certificate program may be eligible for financial aid.

Courses may be chosen from NSUOC graduate courses offered on-line or in-house with a MCCC or MAMC prefix.

Students in the MCCC Certificate are required to take the following courses:

Students Courses are offered in five sessions: 3 12-week session (Fall 1, Winter 1, or Summer) and 2 4-week sessions (Fall 2 and Winter 2). Planned courses for the Academic year July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2015, on-line courses can be found in the here under Course Offerings.

As for all NSU Halmos College of Natural Sciences and Oceanography Graduate Certificates, courses do not need to be taken sequentially. Students can enroll according to the schedule most convenient for them. The Certificate can be gained in less than one year. All course work must be completed within five years of initial registration.
